FAQs

If you’re hesitant about applying for the retreat, we encourage you to read our FAQs for more comprehensive details. Here, you’ll find answers to common questions and additional information that may help clarify any uncertainties and assist you in making a more informed decision.

Psilocybin, along with its derivative psilocin, is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in over 180 species of hallucinogenic mushrooms and truffles worldwide. For thousands of years, psilocybin mushrooms have been utilized in religious and shamanic ceremonies across various cultures. In recent times, psilocybin has been the subject of clinical trials, demonstrating significant potential as a therapeutic aid in treating depression, cluster headaches, PTSD, anxiety, and addiction, according to research from leading institutions like Johns Hopkins Medicine.

We do not promote, encourage or sell psilocybin or any other psychedelic compound, and we exclusively accompany journeys of clients that are interested in safely consuming Truffles containing Psilocybin.

We cannot guarantee that you will have a life-transforming experience, especially after just one Psilocybin session. While some individuals undergo significant transformation during their initial session, for others, the first session may act more as an introduction, necessitating multiple sessions for profound benefits. The integration process following the experience is also crucial for realizing the full potential for transformation.

Most people are well enough to travel or go back to work the day after their ceremony, but this is a personal choice. If the session is overwhelming for you, you may need an additional day, as you may still feel like you are integrating things and not wanting to be going through a busy airport/schedule. The session could also be very gentle, and beautiful and give you a lot of energy and you may feel fine to travel or work. If you can allow an extra day for a peaceful and deeper integration, we highly recommend this.

If you are thinking of booking a retreat with us, please refrain from using or consuming the following medications. Note that this list is not exhaustive. If you are taking a medication not listed here, you must consult your doctor regarding potential interactions with psilocybin. We are not medical professionals and therefore cannot offer medical advice. Thank you for your understanding. If you decide to taper off medication on your own accord, please ensure this is done under the supervision of a licensed medical professional.

Antidepressants:
Consult your doctor to determine if your antidepressant falls into categories such as tricyclic antidepressants, SNRIs, SMSs or SARIs, NRI/NDRI, MAOIs, lithium, or SSRIs. We only allow the use of SSRIs in rare cases and at your own risk.

SSRIs function by inhibiting the clearance of excess serotonin in the brain, temporarily increasing serotonin levels. While it has been hypothesized that this might lead to serotonin syndrome in rare cases, recent studies suggest SSRIs and Psilocybin can be taken together safely. Nonetheless, more research is needed for certainty. We encourage all participants to conduct their own research and, if comfortable proceeding while on SSRIs, to do so only after signing a waiver acknowledging potential risks. We have experience working with individuals who chose to remain on their medication, and while successful, there remains the risk of either an adverse reaction or the substance having no effect.

For more information, refer to this study: Psychedelic Spotlight on SSRIs and Psilocybin.

SSRI Medications Include:

  • Citalopram (Celexa, Cipramil)
  • Escitalopram (Lexapro, Cipralex)
  • Fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem)
  • Fluvoxamine (Luvox, Faverin)
  • Paroxetine (Paxil, Seroxat)
  • Sertraline (Zoloft, Lustral)

Antidepressants Not Recommended with Psilocybin:

  • Tricyclic antidepressants
    • Amineptine (Survector, Maneon)
    • Amitriptyline (Elavil, Endep)
    • Amitriptylinoxide (Amioxid, Ambivalon, Equilibrin)
    • Amoxapine (Asendin)
    • Clomipramine (Anafranil)
    • Desipramine (Norpramin, Pertofrane)
    • Dibenzepin (Noveril, Victoril)
    • Dimetacrine (Istonil)
    • Dosulepin (Prothiaden)
    • Doxepin (Adapin, Sinequan)
    • Imipramine (Tofranil)
    • Lofepramine (Lomont, Gamanil)
    • Maprotiline (Ludiomil)
    • Melitracen (Dixeran, Melixeran, Trausabun)
    • Mianserin (Tolvon)
    • Mirtazapine (Remeron)
    • Nitroxazepine (Sintamil)
    • Nortriptyline (Pamelor, Aventyl)
    • Noxiptiline (Agedal, Elronon, Nogedal)
    • Opipramol (Insidon)
    • Pipofezine (Azafen/Azaphen)
    • Protriptyline (Vivactil)
    • Setiptiline (Tecipul)
    • Tianeptine (Stablon, Coaxil)
    • Trimipramine (Surmontil)
  • SNRI medications
    • Desvenlafaxine (Pristiq, Khedezla)
    • Duloxetine (Cymbalta)
    • Levomilnacipran (Fetzima)
    • Milnacipran (Ixel, Savella)
    • Venlafaxine (Effexor XR)
  • MAOIs:  Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are a class of drugs that are used to treat depression and anxiety. They work by blocking the enzyme monoamine oxidase, which is responsible for breaking down certain neurotransmitters in the brain. When psilocybin is taken with an MAOI, it can lead to a dangerous increase in serotonin levels, which can cause a condition known as serotonin syndrome. Symptoms of serotonin syndrome include agitation, confusion, rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, and fever. In severe cases, serotonin syndrome can lead to seizures, coma, and even death.

Common MAOI medications include:

  • Bifemelane (Alnert, Celeport)
  • Caroxazone (Surodil, Timostenil)
  • Isocarboxazid (Marplan)
  • Metralindole (Inkazan)
  • Moclobemide (Aurorix, Manerix)
  • Phenelzine (Nardil)
  • Pirlindole (Pirazidol)
  • Selegiline (Eldepryl, Zelapar, Emsam)
  • Tranylcypromine (Parnate)
  • Toloxatone (Humoryl)
  • NRI/NDRI: It is unknown whether psilocybin and NRIs/NDRIs interact. To our knowledge, psilocybin does not significantly impact the norepinephrinergic or dopaminergic neurotransmitter systems. However, for safety, psilocybin should not be combined with an NDRI. Some common NRI/NDRI include:
  • Atomoxetine (Strattera)
  • Bupropion (Wellbutrin)
  • Methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta)
  • Reboxetine (Edronax)
  • Teniloxazine (Lucelan, Metatone)
  • Viloxazine (Vivalan)
  • SMS/SARI: Since these substances may affect the serotonin system in a potentially less predictable manner than SSRIs, we do not recommend combining them with psilocybin for safety reasons.
    • Trazodone (Desyrel)
    • Vilazodone (Viibryd)
    • Vortioxetine (Trintellix)
  • TCAs and TeCAs: they function similarly to SNRIs by increasing the levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain. However, they also activate a wide range of additional receptors and block certain ion channels, potentially leading to dangerous side effects. Some of the most well-known TCAs and TeCAs include:
    • Amineptine (Survector, Maneon)
    • Amitriptyline (Elavil, Endep)
    • Amitriptylinoxide (Amioxid, Ambivalon, Equilibrin)
    • Amoxapine (Asendin)
    • Clomipramine (Anafranil)
    • Desipramine (Norpramin, Pertofrane)
    • Dibenzepin (Noveril, Victoril)
    • Dimetacrine (Istonil)
    • Dosulepin (Prothiaden)
    • Doxepin (Adapin, Sinequan)
    • Imipramine (Tofranil)
    • Lofepramine (Lomont, Gamanil)
    • Maprotiline (Ludiomil)
    • Melitracen (Dixeran, Melixeran, Trausabun)
    • Mianserin (Tolvon)
    • Mirtazapine (Remeron)
    • Nitroxazepine (Sintamil)
    • Nortriptyline (Pamelor, Aventyl)
    • Noxiptiline (Agedal, Elronon, Nogedal)
    • Opipramol (Insidon)
    • Pipofezine (Azafen/Azaphen)
    • Protriptyline (Vivactil)
    • Setiptiline (Tecipul)
    • Tianeptine (Stablon, Coaxil)
    • Trimipramine (Surmontil)
  • Lithium: frequently prescribed alongside TCAs as a mood stabilizer. Numerous reports indicate that combining Lithium with psychedelics may lead to fatal seizures or heart attacks. Therefore, it is strongly advised not to mix psilocybin with Lithium.

Additional Considerations:

  • Avoid cannabis, alcohol, or opioids at least 72 hours before a session.
  • Stimulants, including cocaine, amphetamines, and caffeine, can increase cardiovascular risks when combined with psilocybin.
  • Antihistamines may exacerbate negative effects of psilocybin, such as dizziness and confusion.
  • Other medications, including anti-convulsants, hormone-regulating drugs, tranquilizers, mood-altering medications, and specific migraine treatments, are advised against due to potential unknown interactions or interference with the effects of psilocybin.

On the rare occasion that you require medical assistance, we will ensure you receive it as promptly as possible. Our sessions, whether private or group, take place in various locations. No matter where we are, we ensure access to the local emergency services is always available.

Our 5-day retreat is a carefully held journey that unfolds in three phases: Preparation, Immersion, and Integration, each designed to support your growth with depth, care, and clarity.

Before you arrive, you’ll be guided through individual preparation meetings, group workshops, and guided practices, along with supportive resources designed to help you clarify your intentions and create a strong foundation for your experience.

During the retreat, hosted in the natural settings of Portugal or Spain, you’ll participate in two psilocybin ceremonies, complemented by daily practices like meditation, breathwork, mindful movement, group sharing circles, and time in nature, all in a setting of digital detox and deep presence.

After the retreat, our integration program supports you in bringing insights into your daily life. With guided practices, short daily reflections, individual and group calls, you’ll be supported in translating your experience into meaningful, lasting change.

We offer private, partner, and small group ceremonies in various locations across Spain, Portugal and The Netherlands, where Psilocybin has been decriminalized.

We offer private, partner, and small group ceremonies in various locations across Spain (Madrid, Valencia, and the Canary Islands), where Psilocybin has been decriminalized. Upon request, we also travel to places where these substances are legal or decriminalized. A private psilocybin retreat includes a 40-minute preparation session via Zoom. During this session, we get to know you each other, discuss your dosage and answer any questions you might have. On the day of your retreat, you will have your own integration facilitator with you for the entire day, which lasts approximately 6-7 hours. The journey itself can last between 4-6 hours. We come to your temporary accommodation. We recommend selecting a comfortable, cozy, and private space on Airbnb, and we can provide a suggestion if needed. We believe this is more beneficial, as they won’t have to travel after the session ends.

Yes, we offer shared retreats where participants can either share the same space with one practitioner or opt for individual experiences in separate rooms, each with their own facilitator. This arrangement allows both participants to experience the ceremony together while also receiving personalized guidance.

If both participants feel confident in their ability to navigate potentially challenging emotions without fear of negatively affecting the other, sharing the same practitioner in the same room is an option. Such experiences can be profoundly vulnerable. If your relationship is not yet at a stage where you can comfortably support each other’s vulnerability—which is entirely acceptable—we recommend choosing individual practitioners for separate rooms. This allows each person to explore their emotions privately. We encourage you both to consider which option feels more suitable for your needs.

Integration sessions are not mandatory but they are highly recommended, as they will help you unlock all the positive potential of the psilocybin session. During these sessions, we provide a safe space for you to share the insights gained from your journey. Each integration session is unique, tailored specifically to your needs that day. We attune ourselves to your requirements and proceed accordingly.

The effects of psilocybin include altered perceptions of time and space, along with intense changes in mood and feelings.

It can induce feelings of euphoria, peacefulness, and experiences of spiritual awakening. Possible side effects of psilocybin include:

  • Derealization, or the feeling that one’s surroundings are not real
  • Depersonalization, or a dream-like sense of being disengaged from one’s surroundings
  • Distorted thinking
  • Visual alterations and distortions, such as seeing halos of light and vivid colors
  • Dilated pupils
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness and yawning
  • Impaired concentration
  • Muscle weakness
  • Lack of coordination
  • Unusual body sensations
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Confusion
  • Frightening hallucinations
  • Paranoia

Possible side effects the day after the ceremony include:

  • Headaches the following day, which may not always occur but can happen. It’s advisable to drink plenty of water the day before and the evening of the ceremony to mitigate this.
  • Feeling extra sensitive or emotional, which can manifest in a profoundly beautiful way, such as experiencing heightened love or feeling very open. Conversely, it may also surface as difficulty with old, unprocessed emotions moving through you. The nature of this experience varies widely and is unpredictable.
  • Sleep disturbances, with some people finding it difficult to sleep that night, while others report sleeping exceptionally well. Consequently, you may feel tired or find it hard to sleep, which is considered normal.

To support your well-being after the ceremony, staying hydrated and allowing yourself to process and integrate the experience gently is recommended.
